For the parts of
yourself that have
always felt different
Being neurodivergent can shape the way you experience yourself and the world around you.
You may have spent years feeling like you needed to work harder to keep up, hide certain parts of yourself or adapt to expectations that were not designed with your brain in mind. Even when you are successful on the outside, the effort it takes to manage daily life may not always be visible to others.
You may find yourself questioning your identity, struggling with overwhelm or trying to understand why certain things feel harder than they seem for other people.
Therapy can be a place to better understand your experiences without judgment or pressure to change who you are.
Together, we can explore your relationship with yourself and find approaches that work with your brain rather than against it.
Areas I Commonly Work With
ADHD
Exploring the ways attention, executive functioning, motivation and organization can affect daily life. Support may include understanding your unique patterns and finding strategies that fit how your brain works.
◈
Autism
Supporting autistic adults who are exploring their identity, navigating relationships or making sense of past experiences. Therapy can be a place to better understand yourself without feeling pressure to mask or conform.
◈
AuDHD
Exploring the experience of having both ADHD and autism traits and the ways these can interact in daily life. Many people with AuDHD describe feeling like common strategies do not fully fit their needs.
◈
Late Diagnosis & Self-Discovery
Making sense of a diagnosis later in life and revisiting past experiences through a new understanding of yourself. This can include processing grief, relief or changes in how you see your story.
◈
Sensory Sensitivity & Overwhelm
Understanding how sensory experiences, environments and daily demands affect your energy and ability to function. Therapy can help you identify what supports you need and how to communicate those needs.
◈
High-Masking & Burnout
Exploring the impact of constantly adapting to expectations or hiding parts of yourself. Many neurodivergent people experience exhaustion when they have spent years trying to fit into environments that require ongoing effort.
Topics We Might Explore Together
Identity & Self-Understanding
Making sense of your neurodivergence and how it has shaped your experiences. Exploring who you are beneath the expectations you have carried.
◈
Masking & Authenticity
Understanding the ways you have learned to adapt in order to feel accepted or successful. Exploring what it means to show up more fully as yourself.
◈
Executive Functioning
Finding strategies that work with your brain rather than relying on systems that create more frustration. Exploring challenges with organization, planning, motivation and follow-through.
◈
Self-Compassion & Shame
Moving away from the belief that you should simply try harder. Developing a more understanding relationship with yourself and recognizing the effort behind what others may not see.
◈
Relationships & Communication
Exploring differences in communication, emotional needs and expectations within relationships. Learning how to express yourself while honoring your own way of experiencing the world.
◈
Work, School & Accommodations
Navigating environments that may not always support neurodivergent needs. Exploring ways to advocate for yourself and identify changes that make daily life more manageable.
◈
Emotional Regulation & Overwhelm
Understanding intense emotions and learning ways to respond when things feel like too much. Exploring tools that support you during stressful moments.
◈
Transitions & Life Changes
Navigating changes that may bring uncertainty or increased demands. Exploring how to adapt while staying connected to what matters to you.
◈
Unmasking & Self-Acceptance
Building a relationship with yourself that is based on understanding rather than constantly trying to meet outside expectations.
My Approach
For many neurodivergent people, finding a therapist who understands their experience can feel difficult. My goal is to create a space where you feel understood and where you do not have to spend therapy explaining why certain things have always felt harder than they appear.
My work is informed by my clinical training and my understanding of neurodivergent experiences. I approach neurodivergence with curiosity and respect for the ways your brain processes information, emotions and the world around you.
I believe therapy should start with understanding rather than trying to make you fit into a particular way of functioning. Together, we can identify what has been difficult, recognize the strategies you have already developed and find approaches that better support your life.
-
Recognizing that you are the expert on your own experience. Therapy is collaborative and shaped by your perspective, with curiosity about what has worked for you and what you want to understand better.
-
Exploring how to make room for difficult thoughts and emotions while moving toward a life that reflects your values. ACT can be helpful when working through uncertainty, self-criticism or the pressure to meet expectations that do not fit.
-
Supporting a kinder relationship with yourself, especially if you have spent years feeling like you are falling short. This approach can help reduce shame and create more understanding around your experiences.
-
Recognizing the skills, creativity and adaptability you have developed through navigating a world that may not always fit your needs.
-
Recognizing that repeated experiences of misunderstanding, exclusion or having your needs dismissed can leave an impact. This approach considers how past experiences may shape the way you see yourself and interact with the world.
